PIC/Stettler Group Partnership

Partners In Care and the Stettler Group are piloting a Physician Organization/Benefit Consultant partnership with a local 300+ life employer. In this partnership, the clinical informatics and health plan improvement services have been provided by PIC staff to the Stettler Group to enhance the Stettler Group's service offerings to their client.

PIC and the Stettler Group spent more than three months planning this arrangement and expect that it will take approximately four more months to complete the implementation phase.

This arrangement is intended to be the pilot arrangement which is expected to set the stage for the Stettler Group to offer PIC's services to the Stettler Group's client base throughout Central New Jersey.

The Stettler Group's client currently utilizes Third Party Administrative Services from Brokerage Concepts in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and their Provider Network is the Health Care Payors Coalition. Many of the PIC Physicians already participate with the Health Care Payors Coalition so the initial focus of this pilot arrangement is expected to focus on improving health care quality metrics while seeking creative and sustainable ways to save health care dollars for the employees and the self insured health benefit program.

What does this mean for the PIC Physicians?

To the extent that our Clinical Informatics and Health Plan Improvement Program initiatives are successful in assisting the Stettler Group holding overall health care costs in check by providing better, data driven, more proactive health care services to a population of employees focused on improving their individual health status, the available pool of health benefit dollars is preserved to afford better compensation over the long term to physicians in general.

Second, this provides an excellent opportunity for PIC to provide Proof of Concept for both the Stettler Group and PIC. Proving the concept for the Stettler Group means a better ability for them to market their benefit consulting services and retain their existing clients. Proving concept for PIC will support numerous growth and strategic targets as we expand our customer base beyond the traditional fully insured health plans. Proving concept for both the Stettler Group and PIC will provide an opportunity to jointly support more customers in Central New Jersey better.

In the end, this initiative is part of the greater overall strategy of reconnecting PIC Physicians with Local Employers and their Benefits Advisors to reorient the Central New Jersey Health Care Delivery System back to a focus on the Physician/Patient relationship.
